Thor is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is based on the Norse deity of the same name, a powerful warrior and the god of thunder. Thor wields the enchanted hammer Mjolnir, which grants him the ability to fly and manipulate weather, as well as incredible strength and durability. As a founding member of the Avengers, Thor is known for his sense of duty, honor, and his ongoing struggle to prove himself worthy of his powers.
