Napoleon Bonaparte, also known as Napoleon I, was a prominent military and political leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution. Born in Corsica in 1769, he rapidly climbed the ranks of the French army, eventually becoming Emperor of the French in the early 19th century. Known for his strategic brilliance and ambitious vision, Napoleon reshaped Europe through a series of wars known as the Napoleonic Wars. Despite his military successes, his reign was marked by both triumph and controversy, culminating in his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
